Who is Denise Sheppard?

I bring more than forty years worth of professional experience in the relationship business. Nearly thirty of those years were spent as a psychologist working with people of all ages and from all walks of life. Both leadership and interpersonal skills were developed and refined during those years.

For the past seven years I have put these skills to use in the service of the nonprofit community as a Consultant, Grant Writer & Speaker. Whether your organization can benefit from Board training, assistance with a development plan, grant writing, or a speaker for your next conference, I can help you.

I am a life long learner and in the process have attained three graduate degrees, among them a CAES in School Psychology and a M.A. in Critical and Creating Thinking.

I am a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and Grants Professional Association (GPA). I strictly adhere to the AFP Code of Ethics which can be found here.

Philanthropy has been defined as “voluntary action for the common good.” I view this as all encompassing of time, treasure and talent. As a result, in addition to supporting favorite charities financially, and working on their behalf, I also am a Volunteer at My Brother’s Keeper, and a member of the Bridgewater Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
